Smart TVs have become the craze in the technology, but unfortunately until recently you had to get rid of your old TV and purchase a new one. With the advent of smart TV adapters, such as the Amazon Fire TV and Roku stick, bringing the smart to your TV has become much easier.

This review is on the Victsing Android 5.1 TV Box. This TV box is a powerful alternative to the Amazon Fire TV and Roku stick, as it runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, which means it gives me access to a whole plethora of apps via the Google Play store. This means I now have the ability to stream movies and YouTube videos from online, as well as play games, run apps and surf the web all from my, now, smart TV. I can do all this with the help of a Bluetooth keyboard with a trackpad that I own, but using the included remote with the box also works pretty well.

This TV box is powered by a 12V power adapter which was included in the box. For fast easy setup, an HDMI cable was included in the box as well. As for the specs of the device, this device is pretty powerful as it’s got a Quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 processor, 1GB of Ram, Bluetooth 4.0 & Miracast / DLNA and 2.4 GHz WiFi.

Aside from WiFi and Bluetooth connections, there are more connections and ports available which are located on the sides of the unit. These include 3 USB 2.0 ports, an Ethernet port, an HDMI port, a SPDIF Optical Audio port, and an SD card slot. All this is packed neatly into this sleek and thin matte and glossy black case.

The interface is really easy to use, and setting up the device for the first time was as easy as setting up a new Android phone, I just entered my Google credentials and presto I was able to download apps and browse the web. When the unit is turned on I am greeted to a graphical main menu where I can select apps and settings.

I received this Android TV box in exchange for my honest review, and I really enjoy it and recommend it to those who want to convert their ordinary TV into a Smart TV.
