In this day and age when we’re constantly trying to find new creative ways to eat healthy, there are many new tools on the market to help out. A spiralizer is a kitchen tool that simply converts vegetables into different shapes like pasta and chips by simply loading in a vegetable and turning the handle. The result is a beautiful pile of curled veggies ready to be blanched or fried.
This review is on the Zestkit Tri-Blade Vegetable Spiral Slicer. This vegetable spiralizer by Zestkit was packed in a nicely designed box. In the box was the spiralizer, three blades, a cleaning brush and the user manual. Of the three blades included was a ribbon blade, which can be used to make potato chips, onion rings etc, there was also a thick spiral blade which is good for making thicker pasta, and a thin spiral blade for thinner strands of vegetables.
Not only can the vegetables be used for cooking healthy dishes, but they can also be used as garnishes to compliment regular dishes too. The perfect rounds of vegetables look great in salads too, and they add a professional touch to any home meal.
The build quality of the unit is very good. It is made entirely of plastic, like most spiralizers are at this price point. There is a storage compartment built into the unit for storing the two blades that are not in use, which I find convenient. Thanks to a large suction cup at the base of the spiralizer, it doesn’t move around when cranking the handle.
Using the spiralizer is quite straight forward. First pick a blade to use and slide it into the compartment. Next, place the vegetable with ends cut off onto the prongs and push it to the blade. Then, all you gotta do is turn the handle.
