No Bluetooth in your car? Your’e not out of luck. Thanks to the many Bluetooth kits on the market, adding Bluetooth functionality to your car can be very easy and cheap. Not only is there no installation involved, but there are also many models to choose from. Here is a review on a great kit by Himbox.
This review is on the iClever Himbox HB01+ Bluetooth Car Kit. The kit included the Bluetooth transmitter, a magnetic sticky base, a magnetic clip base, a car charger and the user manual. The fact that the kit comes with two different mounting options makes this device very flexible.
Setting up the Bluetooth kit is quite straight forward. After choosing which mount to use and where to put it, all I had to do was plug the USB cord into the car charger, and the audio cord into the AUX port on my car stereo. Then I was able to pair my phone with the device by pressing the large round button on the device until it started flashing blue. From my phone’s Bluetooth menu I selected HB01 PLUS from the “Found Devices” menu, and entered 0000 as the passcode, and bingo! I was connected.
My car was instantly Bluetooth compatible. No need to purchase that expansive add-on from the dealer. Using the device is easy. I can press the round button to answer a call, pause or play a song, and when pressed twice it can reject a call. The two buttons on top of the round button can be used the adjust the volume of the audio or to change the music track being listened to with a long press.
I really like the fact that the kit included a car charger with three ports, because this enables me to charge multiple devices at one time. The USB charger is made of a mixture of metal and plastic and has a solid feel. One port is meant for the Bluetooth receiver, and the other two can power phones or tablets with it’s 2.4 amps of power output.
I received this Bluetooth kit at a discounted rate in exchange for my honest review, and these are my unbiased thoughts on the product.
