LED desk lamps are becoming very popular for a few reasons, and most notably because they consume much less power than a traditional light bulb, and because you never have to change the bulb. This makes the lamp money saving and convenient.
This review is on the Etekcity LED Desk Lamp. The lamp arrived to me in two pieces which were very easy to assemble, with no tools being required. The plastic lamp is finished in a glossy black finish, and although it doesn’t feel solid at the top, the heavy base makes sure it doesn’t move or tip over. A 12V adapter was included with the lamp, and it plugs in to the rear of the lamp.
This lamp has some nice features too which can be used by pressing the touch sensitive buttons on the panel. Firstly, the lamp has two lighting modes which change the color temperature of the light to suit the occasion, and they are Reading, Study, Relax, and Sleep. The light goes from a cool white to a very warm white, similar to a traditional incandescent bulb.
I like the fact that there are many brightness settings to the light, for this allows me to read a book at night while allowing others to sleep in the room. I would have liked to see the light be able to go a little brighter than it does though.
The built in timer function allows those who can’t fall asleep without a light in the room to fall asleep without the light remaining on the entire night. I am a big fan of the built in USB port located on the side of the unit, as it is always good to have one avail be at the desk to charge my phone. However, the port only supplies 1 Amp of power, so it won’t charge tablets.
I received this desk lamp at a discounted rate in exchange for my honest review, and these are my unbiased thoughts on the product.
