A multimeter is a tool that enables you to measure electric current, voltage, and resistance. It comes in handy when troubleshooting electrical problems whether in a home, car, or any other electrical appliance. This multimeter by Etekcity has some nice features.
This review is on the Etekcity MSR-C600 Clamp Meter & Multimeter. The multimeter comes in a nicely designed box, and includes a set of probes and a carry case. Having a carry case not only protects the unit but it also protects things from getting punctured by the probes. The multimeter is encased in a gray and red hard plastic, which seems tough enough to survive a beating. It fits well in the hand, with the mode dial and clamp trigger easy to control with my thumb and index finger respectively.
As for features, the multimeter has modes for AC current, AC/DC voltage, resistance, diode and continuity testing, and it has a convenient clamp which can measure AC current in a conductor up to 26mm without interrupting the circuit, which I find quite handy. Getting to these modes is a simple as turning the dial the respective element. One of the notable features, the clamp which measures AC current, is also very easy to use. The included manual does a great job at explaining all the features.
Right below the mode dial are 3 buttons, SELECT, MAX,and HOLD. The select button can be used to switch between Diode and Continuity Test. The Max button lets you record the max value detected, and the Hold button lets you hold the current value on the screen. Right below the buttons is an LCD display which has large clear numbers and is easy to read. The unit is powered by 2 AAA batteries which is convenient as they are easy to find, and thanks to an auto off feature, the unit turns off after 15 minutes of inactivity.
I have received this multimeter in exchange for my honest and unbiased review, and these are my true thoughts on the product.
